The New Tempur-Pedic GrandBed

I listened in today to the Tempur-Pedic 4th quarter earnings call - my real interest wasn't their financial numbers but getting the scoop on their latest bed, the GrandBed. As the name suggests, this is Tempur-pedic's foray into the ultra expensive bedding market. The price point for a Queen GrandBed is around $5400.

While Tempur-Pedic didn't give too many details on the GrandBed in this call, they did say that it will include a new type of Tempur foam (as will the Rhapsody bed they are also coming out with that is at a lower price point). They will be introducing both these beds at the Las Vegas Market next week (Jan 30 - Feb 3 2006). I can't wait to get more details on it. Who would have thunk that a foam bed could scale the heights of over $5000? We'll have to see what they have put into the bed to make it that much better and different from their current top of the line CelebrityBed.
