Another Great Shopping.Com Testimonial On Our Mattress

Here's another fantastic review of our mattress. We just love getting these:

"Originally I wanted to buy tempur-pedic mattress, because I had bad experiences buying cheap imitations and no name products. I was not ready to pay 2000+ at once, so I decided to try with financing. fortunately I got turned down due insufficient credit history (never had any loans or payments), and that's when I started looking for alternative solution.I forgot to mention, I have really bad morning stiffness in my back and neck, and sometimes my back hurts so bad that I can't sleep at all! I've tried with memory foam topper, inversion rack to relieve tension in my back, but over the time it was just getting worse. Somehow I came across healthy foundations web site, and to be honest, your site didn't impress me much at first. I used to be a graphic designer interested in web design, and your site was too cluttered and blog-like for my taste. just my opinion though, I came across your site many times during my research before I finally decided to check your BBB rating and reviews at epinions.com (I don't believe in testimonials ;-). Finally after reading almost 100% positive reviews and no complaints at bbb.com I decided to give a try. I ordered queen size on Sunday or Monday, expecting it to arrive around Friday or Saturday. I was surprised when I tracked my order on Wednesday and it was out for delivery! I had to take day off at work because I was too anxious to try it out and didn't wanna miss delivery (this is not a complaint though ;-). Long story short, mattress decompressed before my eyes as promised, there were some traces of odor, but not as much as my mattress topper had, and overall mattress fulfilled my expectations. My back pain is not completely gone, but it doesn't wake me up in the morning anymore and I have really good night sleep. I like it's firmness and softness in the same time. My girlfriend likes it too, even though she never had any sleep or back problems. I would recommend this mattress to everyone. ..."

What Are the Benefits of a Medicott Treatment on Your Mattress Cover and What is It?

Medicott is a series of special treatments designed to make cotton and the various cotton mixes so clear that the ticking used for our mattress cover becomes truly hypoallergenic in terms of dust mites and mold.

The first step in the process is to remove substances which cling to cotton fibers while they are growing, harvested, processed or made into cloth. These may be natural substances or fluff, dirt, etc. or chemicals such as pesticides, dyes, etc. Next comes the second, and most important, part of the treatment. This treatment is similar to that used for cotton bandages. First, the cotton is treated with alkali and then bleached in hydrogen peroxide. This cleanses the cotton of all substances that molds can feed. These are the very molds that dust mites survive on. The process is not designed to kill the dust mite directly, but to change the environment in order to prevent the dust mite from thriving. Even after multiple washes, the microscopic cleansing process used in Medicott retains all the properties that prevent mold from thriving. The material basically denies an ideal environment for the dust mite.

What's a Healthy Height Off the Floor For Your Mattress?

There's a few school's of thought on this question. But what we've found is that by being able to sit on the side of your bed, and having your feet being able to reach the floor (heel and toes), keeps your body in a good posture, both getting in and out of bed. This tends to make it easier on your back and knees. If your existing bed isn't this height off the floor, a good way to figure what is a good height is to measure by sitting on a chair that just gets your feet to hit the floor (heel and toes), and measuring that chair height (then adding two or three inches to compensate for your mattress compressing a bit as you'd sit on it). Then you can measure your frame height off the floor, then your foundation, then your mattress. If your mattress height off the floor is too high, then you can look into a lower profile foundation or a bed frame that's lower. If your mattress height off the floor is too low, then you can look into a higher profile foundation or a bed frame that's higher.
