Tired of tossing and turning and trying to get comfortable at night? Tired of sleeping in a giant lump or crater in the middle of your old innerspring bed? (Been there!) Think there’s got to be a way to wake up without a back ache every morning? There is! That’s why more and more people are choosing a memory foam mattress for better sleep and great mornings.

Memory Foam Mattress points out some of the virtues of the memory foam mattress. A memory foam mattress is extremely comfortable. It’s unique qualities make it temperature sensitive. This mean it uses your body’s own temperature to mold to and to support every curve and contour of your body. This reduces pressure points and the need to toss and turn to get and stay comfortable. Once you do change positions, the memory foam “remembers” its original shape and then gently settles into your new sleeping position.

At Healthy Foundations, we want you to be as informed about your mattress choices as possible. We sell memory foam, but offer our visitors our guides to air beds and natural latex mattresses too. Check our buyer’s guides out to see which quality mattress is the right mattress for you.

Perhaps you have a fairly new mattress (five years or less) that isn’t as comfortable as you’d like. Maybe it’s in good condition, but you just don’t like the way it feels. Are you destined to sleep uncomfortably or spend money replacing a relatively new bed? Not necessarily. Here’s why…

A memory foam mattress topper may be just what you need to make your current mattress more comfortable. Full Size Memory Foam Mattress Toppers points out some reasons why a memory foam topper pad may be right for you. Although a memory foam mattress topper can make a relatively new mattress more comfortable, it’s not a substitute for a new mattress if your current mattress is old and worn out. If you current mattress is more than five years old and/or has dips, sags, or lumps, a memory foam mattress pad is not going to help it. In the case of an old or worn out mattress, replacement of the mattress is the answer. In that case, skip the memory foam mattress topper and think about a new memory foam mattress.

Bottom line: If you have a mattress that is five years or newer and in relatively good condition, but could be more comfortable, a memory foam mattress topper pad may be right for you. If your mattress is older than five years and not in good condition, a topper cannot fix it.

At Healthy Foundations, we sell memory foam, but we want you to be as informed about your mattress choices as possible. In addition to our Guide to Memory Foam, check out our buyer’s guides for air beds and natural latex mattresses.

Tired of waking up with back pain? Tired of sleeping in that crater in the middle of your old inner spring mattress? Perhaps it’s time to take a look at a memory foam mattress for back pain relief.

The Shocking Truth About Back Pain Revealed offers up chiropractic instead of drugs and surgery. Another thing to think about is your mattress. Many people found their back pain lessened once they started sleep on a memory foam mattress. It’s not a cure-all or a substitute for medical care, but many people have found a memory foam mattress has helped ease their back pain.

A memory foam mattress is extremely comfortable. It is temperature sensitive, which means that it uses your body’s heat to mold to the curves and contours of your body. This means every part of your body is supported and pressure points are reduced. This eliminates the tossing and turning many people do to get comfortable. If you do change positions, the memory foam “remembers” its original position and then gently settles into your new sleeping position.

Thinking about a memory foam mattress? Maybe you’re tired of sleeping on an uncomfortable mattress and are interested in a memory foam mattress but aren’t sure how to choose a quality one. You may also be scared off by “leading brand” prices. Can you find a quality memory foam mattress without paying thousands? Absolutely! If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is, but you can find a quality memory foam mattress without paying an arm and a leg. Read on…

How Do You Choose A Memory Foam Mattress? makes a few good points about choosing a quality memory foam mattress, but here are tried and true tips that will allow you to find a high quality memory foam mattress at about half the price of “leading brand.” By the way, you know who “leading brand” is. Its initials are T.P. You know why you know who “leading brand” is? They spend millions on advertising so you know who they are, but don’t worry, you don’t have to pay for their advertising if you don’t want to. Here’s how -

Think outside the box. Buying online is a great way to save because you aren’t paying for a “bricks and mortar” store’s high overhead or “leading brand’s” expensive advertising.

Only buy from online retailers who are monitored by third party organizations like Shopping.com and the Better Business Bureau. Look for a five star rating on Shopping.com and an A or A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Only shop with online memory foam mattress retailers that give you a true money-back guarantee. Do not go for a store credit or “comfort” guarantee (tricky way of saying you are getting a store credit). These could cost you thousands of dollars without even ending up with a mattress you like.

Along with the money-back guarantee, only buy from a memory foam mattress retailer that allows you to try your new memory foam mattress for an extended period in your own home. I recommend at least 180 days.

Follow the above tips and you are sure to find a quality memory foam mattress that isn’t outrageously priced. At Healthy Foundations, we sell memory foam, but we want you to be as informed about your mattress choices as possible. Check out our air bed buyer’s guide and our natural latex mattress guide in addition to our Guide to Memory Foam.

Many of us do not get enough sleep. Experts say that most adults need seven to nine hours of sleep and that getting less than six hours of sleep can bring on negative side effects to one’s health. There is a lot of information out there about improving sleep, so let’s take a look at a few tips for sleeping better.

Take Care Tip Tuesday: Quality Sleep is an article about sleep written for caregivers. This article offers the following tips for improving your sleep that are helpful for everyone, not just caregivers: (To read more details about each tip, click on the link to the article.)

1. Get into a routine – Go to bed and wake up at the same time everyday.
2. Cut out naps – A short (20 minutes) nap can be helpful, but skip the naps if you are having trouble sleeping at night.
3. Exercise – Even 10 minutes of exercise can help relieve stress, but avoid exercise 2 – 3 hours before bedtime.
4. Watch what you eat and drink – Avoid caffeine, nicotine, heavy meals, alcohol, and excessive liquids before bedtime.
5. Check the environment – Your room should be cool and dark and make sure the blinking lights on your electronics can’t be seen.

Under the “environment” tip, is the suggestion to, “Make sure your bed is comfortable.” The most important aspect of that tip is to make sure you have a comfortable mattress. An old, worn-out innerspring mattress is an absolute no-no. If you are thinking about a new mattress to improve your sleep, three high quality mattresses to look at are the memory foam mattress, the natural latex mattress, and the air bed. At Healthy Foundations, we sell memory foam, but we want to you to be as informed about your mattress options as possible. In addition to our Guide to Memory Foam, check out our buyer’s guides for air beds and latex mattresses.

Every now and then I run into something interesting and unusual and sometimes, rather weird. When I saw this next bed, I said, “What will they think of next?” My next thought was, “Will this “Evening Breeze bed” work with a memory foam mattress?

The Evening Breeze beds cool you off to sleep explains how rather than spoiling your decor with an eco-friendly way to cool yourself while you are sleeping, you can purchase one of the Evening Breeze range of beds. They come with special bed posts and canopies that feature built-in ventilation systems. They pull the air from under your bed, cool and dehumidify it, and then blow it over you. Sounds interesting, huh?

The good news is that you can use this with a memory foam mattress and it supposedly saves you 60 – 80% on your electricity bill. The bad news is that it’s $4500 and, at that price, I’ll stick with the ceiling fan that’s over my bed. It does the same thing for about $150 and I can have any style headboard I like!

At Healthy Foundations, we sell memory foam, but we want you to be as informed about your mattress choices as possible. In addition to our Guide to Memory Foam, check out our natural latex mattress guide and our air bed guide.

Orthopedic Memory Foam Dog Beds – Something Every Dog Owner Needs caught my eye since I am a pet lover. The author of the article points out why the same memory foam that can help you sleep more comfortably can also help your dog, especially an older dog, sleep more comfortably too. You don’t even need to let your dog sleep in your memory foam bed… Just get him his own!

Memory foam is extremely comfortable. It is temperature sensitive, which means that it uses your body’s temperature to mold to the contours of your body, reducing pressure points and the need to toss and turn to get and stay comfortable. If you do change positions, the memory foam returns to its original position then gentles settles in to your new sleeping position. The same technology that makes you sleep comfortably can also help Fido sleep comfortably too.

I frequently blog about memory foam mattresses, natural latex mattresses, and sleep. I personally have a very keen sense of smell, so Top 5 Serene Bedroom Scents jumped out at me as something that might be interesting. Scents are also very strong triggers of memory and can remind us of things or places in our past too.

The top five scents that soothe your nerves and create a peaceful sleeping environment are Eucalyptus, Bergomot, Lavender (I already knew this one was soothing), Night-Blooming Jasmine, and Sandalwood. Although these scents are all quite different, each has its own way of helping one sleep more easily. Eucalyptus can relax your mind and muscles, as well as clean your sinuses. Bergamot is a citrus scent known for easing stress. Lavender is known for its soothing powers and is frequently found in sleep and bedroom products. Night-Blooming Jasmine is a fragrant flower that is sweet and soothing; and Sandalwood is a spicy musky scent. You can check out the linked article to read how to add these scents to your sleep repertoire.

Another way to ensure a good night’s sleep is by making sure you are sleeping on a comfortable mattress. Tossing and turning to get comfortable and waking up without feeling refreshed are sure signs that you need a new mattress. At Healthy Foundations, we want you to be as informed about your mattress options as possible. Although we sell memory foam, check out our buyer’s guides for natural latex mattresses and air beds too.

I’m frequently being asked by people if a memory foam mattress is right for them. I’m also continually finding articles that claim to be able to tell someone if a memory foam mattress will be the right mattress for them. Best Guide to Locate The Ideal Memory Foam Mattress offers a few tips for choosing a memory foam mattress, but here are three important things you need to look for when shopping for memory foam to make sure a memory foam mattress is indeed right for you.

1. Buy from a retailer that allows unbiased third parties like Shopping.com and the Better Business Bureau to monitor them. Retailers will only put positive reviews and comments on their own web sites; third parties will let you see everything consumers have written about a company – the good, the bad, and the ugly.

2. Buy from a retailer that lets you try your memory foam mattress in your own home for an extended period of time. We recommend at least 180 days.

3. Buy from a retailer that will allow you to return your memory foam mattress and get your money back if it doesn’t work for you after your extended in-home trial. Do not accept a store credit or “comfort” guarantee (same thing as a store credit). If you do, you could be out a lot of money and still not have a mattress that you are happy with.

Bottom line: If you follow the three tips above you will be sure to have a pleasant and successful memory foam mattress shopping experience and be able to safely find out if a memory foam mattress works for you.

At Healthy Foundations, we sell memory foam, but we want you to be as informed about your mattress choices as possible. In addition to our Guide to Memory Foam, check out our air bed guide and our natural latex mattress guide.

Thinking about a new mattress? Tired of tossing and turning to get comfortable? Tired of sleeping in that big crater in the middle of your innerspring mattress? Perhaps it’s time to take a look at a durable, long lasting alternative to the traditional innerspring mattress – the memory foam mattress.

Memory foam mattresses are extremely comfortable. Memory foam is temperature sensitive. This means that it uses your body’s heat to mold to the curves and contours of your body. This reduces uncomfortable pressure points and the need to constantly toss and turn to get and stay comfortable. When you do roll over, the memory foam goes back to its original shape (hence, “memory” foam) and then gently molds to your new sleeping position. A memory foam mattress is also very durable and cost-effective. Look for a memory foam mattress with at least a 10-year warranty to ensure quality.

Sweet Dreams With Foam Memory Mattress makes some good points about why a memory foam mattress is superior to a traditional innerspring mattress, but how can you be sure a memory foam mattress is right for you? The only way to know if a memory foam mattress is right for you is to try one in your own home for an extended period (at least 180 days). Buy only from a retailer that gives you a money-back guarantee, not a store credit or “comfort” guarantee (same thing as a store credit).

At Healthy Foundations, we want you to be as informed about your mattress choices as possible. In addition to our Guide to Memory Foam, check out our guides to natural latex mattresses and air beds too.
