Things NOT to do to Get a Good Night’s Sleep

There are some things most of us may know are “no-nos” before bed if you want to get a good night’s sleep.  Some things that immediately come to mind include exercising before bed and eating a large meal in the evening.  Did you know there are some other less obvious (but important) things that you shouldn’t do before bed or have as part of your bedroom and nighttime routine?

In his article, Want a Good Night’s Sleep? Then Never Do These Things Before Bed, Dr. Joseph Mercola, a leading natural health doctor, outlines the seven things you should and shouldn’t do to get a good night’s sleep.  Some of these things, like keeping your bedroom below seventy degrees, are simple enough and are an easy fix for most people.  Other suggestions,  like checking your bedroom for electro-magnetic fields, take a little more effort and a small investment.  Whether you can or want to implement all or most of Dr. Mecola’s suggestions, the article is a good place to start if you are looking for ways to improve your sleep and your health.

Another way to get a good night’s sleep is to make sure you are sleeping on a comfortable mattress.  According to the third party review site, SleepLiketheDead.com, memory foam is the top-rated mattress for comfort.  If you would like to learn more about memory foam, check out our comprehensive Guide to Memory Foam.
