What depth pad should you choose?
After trying out a number of pads and thickness, I really feel that the 2" thickness is the sweet spot. It really gives most people the benefits of a memory foam pad (better sleep, less aches and pains, etc). The 3" pad is somewhat more luxurious, but there is a trade-off in that you sink in deeper and lose some support for your back. I would suggest a 3" for someone who is a bit heavier, or if you are really looking for a soft, luxurious feel.

Memory Foam Pillows
I've looked at a number of memory foam pillows, and they range from very firm and somewhat unyielding to overly soft and too squishy. The Healthy Foundations Memory Foam Neck Pillow hits the sweet spot - soft enough to be comfortable yet still dense enough to be supportive. The 4 lb. density foam used in our pillow is not as temperature sensitive as some other memory foams, which means that it generally retains its comfortable feel over a wide range of temperatures and won't get hard below 70 degrees as some of the other memory foam pillows do.
For the most part, I have found that this Standard size fits most people. The dimensions of the pillow are - 21" wide, 14" deep and 5" tall at the peak of it curve and weighs 4 pounds. Our pillow comes with a cover which has a cotton/terry zippered cover. In general, this pillow should work for those of you between 5ft 2" and 6ft, and 120 - 180 pounds.
The pillows are generally shipped 2 - 3 business days after you order, by UPS Ground. Next day and second day air shipping is available, but due to the weight of the pillow is 3 - 4 times the cost. The Protect-A-Bed Premium Waterproof & Allergy-Free Mattress Protector Pad
We get a fair number of people asking about how to protect their topper pad and mattress from liquids (spills, pet and child accidents, incontinence, etc.) or for a cover that is dust mite resistant for those with allergy concerns.
In the last few years, new types of mattress protector pads have been developed that offer this sort of protection for both of these issues. These new mattress protectors use thin layers of waterproof membrane material (polyurethane laminate) beneath a soft, thin cotton Terry toweling top (terrycloth).
These new mattress protectors are a huge improvement over the old style mattress protectors because they are breathable. The old style mattress protectors just didn't work well with memory foam because they didn't allow air to easily circulate back into the memory foam - so they would tend to sleep hot and change the basic feel of the memory foam pad (the foam would have trouble expanding back to its full height after being compressed since air wouldn't easily circulate back into the memory foam pads).
But the new mattress protectors don't have these drawbacks. Since they are breathable, they don't change the feel of a memory foam topper or memory foam layered mattress and they do a great job of protecting against spills. And they also have the added benefit of helping in allergy situations as well (effective in preventing bacteria and dust mites from breeding in your topper pad or mattress).
We've looked at a number of these new mattress protectors, and while they all are pretty similar we noticed some differences - mainly whether the protector made the typical crinkly sound when you moved about (due to the film) and whether the protector altered the way the memory foam topper felt. After testing out a few, we've come to really like the Premium Protect-A-Bed protector pad the best. The Premium Protect-A-Bed protector pad has a nice feel to it and doesn't crinkle when you move around. And it didn't change the way our memory foam pad felt or slept.
All in all, we really like the Premium Protect-A-Bed protector pad and feel it is the best protector we've tested with the memory foam topper and memory foam layered mattress - it doesn't interfere with the feel or benefits of the memory foam and does a good job of protecting the mattress and offers allergy benefits as well. It has an elasticized skirt (fitted mattress pad style) so it can fit up to a 20" deep mattress depth.

Why did we choose this particular comparison? To be honest, we get asked these questions a lot (Compare our mattress to the "Leading Brand"), and it is difficult because the memory foams used in our brand and the leading brand are different - and have different feels.
But this was purposeful - our manufacturers weren't looking to duplicate or knock-off the "Leading Brand", but come up with their own design that focused on support and comfort. So in trying to compare our mattress to the "Leading Brand", we focused not on trying to do a comparison based on how our mattress compares in "feel" to the "Leading Brand's" mattress, but instead comparing the mattresses' overall comfort to the consumer.
And in looking at overall comfort, we felt the best comparison wasn't to the "Leading Brand's" entry models but instead the next level up - the "Deluxe", against our 10" mattress. The "Leading Brand's" entry models really are too firm for most consumers. We did carry one of these entry models when they first came to market, and the firmness was so pronounced that we had a return rate almost double of what we currently have with our 10" memory foam mattress.
The first mattress model of the "Leading Brand" that we feel comes close to hitting the comfort sweet spot of our 10" mattress (good support but not overly firm with a nice comfort feel of memory foam) is the "Deluxe" model. And the market seems to bear us out - I've been told a dealer that was formerly one of the country's leading retailers selling the "Leading Brand" memory foam mattress that the "Deluxe" was his best seller by far. He also thought the best comparison of our mattress was the "Deluxe" in not only comfort but also in overall quality and finish as well.
Based on all this, we decided the fairest comparison was of our 10" mattress to the "Leading Brand's" "Deluxe" model - and we hope this helps you understand how we came to this and why.
