Many of us have seen the recent news reports about the latest studies warning us that the cancer risk from Computerized Tomagraphy (CT) Radiation is higher than previously thought. This leads researchers to believe CT scans can possibly lead to an increased number of cases of radiation-related cancer and deaths radiation-related cancer.
The Archives of Internal Medicine details two separate studies that explore cancer incidences and deaths as related to CT scans. A CT scan involves shooting an x-ray beam through the body. A computer then recreates the image into a cross section of bone, internal organs, blood vessels, soft tissue, and other anatomy.
We find this study important because many of our customers come to us and choose our memory foam mattress because they have back pain, and have possibly had CT scans in search of an answer to their back pain. Although a memory foam mattress is not a cure-all for back pain, many of our customers have found help for their back pain from our memory foam mattress.
This research is important for everyone who has had, or may possibly have a CT scan in the future. It is something that we all should take note of.
