Memory Foam: Tips on a Finding a Good Memory Foam Mattress

Have you been thinking that it’s time for a new mattress?  Maybe you’ve been thinking about a memory foam mattress but you’re not sure what to look for. Maybe you’re not sure if you want to spend thousands of dollars for one.  Have no fear!  Shopping for a memory foam mattress can be easy if you follow a few tips.  And you don’t have to pay “leading brand’s” prices!  (Who wants to pay for their millions in advertising anyway?)

The article Tips on Finding a Good Mattress attempts to give a few guidelines to those looking for a mattress, but is a bit shallow.  Here are a few key tips for finding a good memory foam mattress:

Only buy from a retailer that is monitored by unbiased third parties like Shopping.com and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

The only way to really find out if a memory foam mattress is right for you is to try one for an extended period in your own home.  We recommend at least 180 days.

Only buy from a retailer that will give you your money back if the mattress doesn’t work for you.  Do not buy from a retailer that offers a store credit or comfort guarantee (same thing as a store credit) no matter how tempting they make it sound.  We have heard from many, many people who settled for these types of “guarantees” and ended up being out lots of money, still without a mattress that they liked.

At Healthy Foundations, we want you to know about all your mattress choices.  Although we sell memory foam, we also offer buyer’s guides for air beds and natural latex mattresses.
