Memory Foam Mattresses: Better Sleep Means Fewer Sleepy Drivers on our Roads

Do you feel sleepy during the day?  Tired of tossing and turning and waking up tired?  According to the National Sleep Foundation’s 2008 Sleep in America poll, 36% of Drivers Have Nodded Off Behind the Wheel.  This is an extraordinarily scary statistic.  We, as a nation, need to address this health and safety crisis.

Obviously many of us are not getting enough sleep.  One thing we can do to sleep better is to sleep more comfortably and more soundly.  Many people have found that replacing their old inner spring mattress with a memory foam mattress has helped them to sleep more soundly and more comfortably.  A memory foam mattress is temperature sensitive and uses your body’s heat to mold to the contours of your body.  This reduces pressure points and the need to toss and turn to get comfortable, resulting in a sounder, more restorative sleep.  This goes a long way toward reducing sleepiness when you should be alert and awake, like when you are driving.

At Healthy Foundations, we sell memory foam, but we want you to be as informed about your mattress choices as possible.  In addition to our Guide to Memory Foam, we also offer guides to air beds and natural latex mattresses.
