Picking a Domain Name For Your Online Business

I came across a post of someone asking how to chose from a couple of domain names for their new online business.

The discussion centered on the SEO advantages of one name vs another.

But given Google’s update at the end of 2102 which no longer gave a boost to exact match domain names on a search, I really think that other considerations play a much more important part.

About 9 years ago I wrote a whole web site on how to create a web business.  I got fed up with what I heard from the gurus that the web was just another form of advertising, and that a web business is all about marketing.

Getting Your Site To Show At The Top Of The 1st Page On Google For Your Local Business

When I talk with people, and they find out I have an internet business, I sometimes get asked how to use the Internet to help them with their local business.

In the last year, I helped a friend market his new Indian restaurant.  And after a year, his restaurant comes up first in the local search results on Google and he often has lines out the door.
