Many people are turning to all-natural latex as their mattress of choice. Sure, you want natural latex for its comfort and its 100% botanical qualities, but how can you be sure you are getting 100% all-natural latex? You have to do your homework and you have to ask the hard questions. Here’s why:
Many mattress retailers will call their mattress a “natural latex” mattress when, in fact, it only has a small amount of actual natural latex in it and the rest is synthetic latex. Why would retailers do this? They do it because they can. It is cheaper and easy to make a latex mattress using synthetic latex, but synthetic latex loses some of the very qualities you look for in an all-natural latex mattress, including being 100% botanical and 100% natural.
In a nutshell, if you are searching for a 100% all-natural latex mattress ask these questions:
Is there any synthetic latex in this mattress at all?
What materials, besides 100% all natural latex, are in this mattress?
Understand that there will be a cover on your 100% all-natural latex mattress (which can also be all-natural) and there will be some adhesives if the mattress is constructed with layers, but the latex should be 100% natural, with no synthetic latex, if you want all the qualities 100% natural latex offers.
