Memory Foam and Electric Blankets

From time to time, we get questions about the use of electric blankets and electric mattresses pads with our memory foam.

If someone would like to use an electric mattress pad with their memory foam mattress, we suggest just to turn it on for a while to warm up the bed, then turn it off. We do not recommend leaving it on all the time as it is unclear whether long term use of an electric mattress pad will harm the memory foam or not.

Memory Foam in the Freezer – Boys Will Be Boys

Memory foam in the freezer?? What on earth does that mean? It means that when you have two boys at home who are 11 and 13, they like to do science experiments and see how things work. Perhaps they didn’t believe me when I told them about the time I accidentally left my memory foam pillow in the car during freezing temperatures and took it out to find it was hard as a brick.  Perhaps they were just curious and wanted to see if memory foam is truly temperature sensitive.  Perhaps the older brother wanted to use it as a weapon on the younger one.  (He did.)  The good news is that I intercepted the memory foam pillow weapon and returned it to its rightful place — my younger son’s warm bedroom.  Problem solved, but I probably should get some more food in that spare freezer!

Why a Quality Memory Foam Topper is Worth the Price

I speak to many people who are looking for a memory foam topper, but want to pay a very low price. With memory foam toppers, durability and longevity is a huge factor in the price you will pay.  When I talk about price, I’m not talking about overpriced (which is the case when the price you pay is due to millions in advertising like the leading memory foam brand).  I’m talking about price that is based on the comfort, quality, and durability of the memory foam topper.

Can You Use Multiple Mattress Topper Pads on An Innerspring Mattress

Yesterday, a customer wrote and asked this memory foam mattress topper pad question:

Question:

“What would be the advantage or disadvantage in buying three of your 3″ queen size pads and putting them on top of each other on our innerspring?”

Our Answer:

We don’t recommend putting multiple pads on a mattress. If your innerspring mattress is so hard that you don’t think a 3″ memory foam mattress topper pad will do the trick, you really are better off buying a new mattress than getting 2 of our pads.

Memory Foam Mattress Toppers: Can a Memory Foam Mattress Topper Work for You?

A memory foam mattress topper may be just what you need to make your current mattress more comfortable without spending a lot of money.  Can it fix a mattress that is past its useful life that should be thrown away? No, don’t count on it for that.  In the article Memory Foam Mattress Toppers Explained, the author states that a memory foam mattress topper will give you “essentially, a new mattress.”  It’s actually not quite that simple.

Is the Topper Pad Helpful for Fibromyalgia and are They Hypo-Allergenic

We are often asked about whether our memory foam topper pads are helpful for people with specific types of pain issues. Here’s a question we got about fibromyalgia:

Question:

“I am trying to decide whether to purchase the 2″ or 3” memory foam mattress topper. I have fibromyalgia and will be placing the topper on my King Coil mattress and box springs (they are in great shape).

Memory Foam: A Memory Foam Topper Pad May Be Right For You

Perhaps you have a fairly new mattress (five years or less) that isn’t as comfortable as you’d like.  Maybe it’s in good condition, but you just don’t like the way it feels.  Are you destined to sleep uncomfortably or spend money replacing a relatively new bed?  Not necessarily.  Here’s why…

A memory foam mattress topper may be just what you need to make your current mattress more comfortable.  Full Size Memory Foam Mattress Toppers points out some reasons why a memory foam topper pad may be right for you.  Although a memory foam mattress topper can make a relatively new mattress more comfortable, it’s not a substitute for a new mattress if your current mattress is old and worn out.  If you current mattress is more than five years old and/or has dips, sags, or lumps, a memory foam mattress pad is not going to help it.  In the case of an old or worn out mattress, replacement of the mattress is the answer.  In that case, skip the memory foam mattress topper and think about a new memory foam mattress.

A Memory Foam Pillow – My Introduction to Memory Foam Mattresses

How did I get introduced to memory foam?  It was through a memory foam pillow.  I was very active and having neck pain of an unknown origin.  From the urging of a friend, I decided to give a memory foam pillow a try.  Great decision!  My neck pain left and never came back.  I love my memory foam pillow so much that I take it with me when I travel.
