Review of Tempur-Pedic ® Mattresses

As one of the main information sites for memory foam on the web, we are often asked what we think of the Tempurpedic ® mattresses. And while we really do like our The Healthy Foundations Memory Foam Mattress that we carry, it doesn't diminish our respect for the Tempurpedic ® line of mattresses. The Tempur foam used in the Tempurpedic ® line is certainly a quality foam - and Tempurpedic ® has done a good job of expanding their product line in the last few years to offer people a variety of feels in their mattresses.

The basic point you should remember about a Tempurpedic ® mattress is that the base foam used in all their mattresses is firm. So the firmness of a particular Tempurpedic ® mattress depends on the depth and layers of the Tempur memory foam used on top of the base foam. The firmest Tempurpedic mattresses, then, are those that have the thinnest layers of memory foam on them - The OriginalBed by Tempur-Pedic^tmThe ClassicBed by Tempur-Pedic^tmBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm. If you like a pretty firm mattress and like the feel of the Tempurpedic ®, then these are the two models you should check out. My preference is for The ClassicBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm - it is a bit more expensive, but has some upgrades over the Original (airflow channels in its base foam and a bit more Tempur foam) that I think make it worth the extra expense.

For those looking for something medium firm in a Tempurpedic ®, the mattress to check out is The DeluxeBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm. This is the sweet spot mattress in the Tempurpedic ® line - and the best selling of their various lines I believe. It has just enough more Tempur foam to really offer a softer feel than The ClassicBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm. One other option would be the newer model that Tempurpedic ® has come out with - The RhapsodyBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm. The RhapsodyBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm seems much like the Deluxe in its construction except that it incorporates some of Tempurpedic's ® higher density Tempur foam called Tempur HD. Tempurpedic ® doesn't hold out that this higher density Tempur foam offers any additional benefits over the standard Tempur foam, but it does have a bit more of a firmer feel. So if you are in the market for a medium firm Tempurpedic ® mattress you may want to test these two models to see which one feels better to you.

If you are looking for even a cushier feel, then the Tempurpedic ® Celebrity is the one you would want to check out. It is a fair amount more expensive than the Deluxe, but it has a very different feel due to the additional Tempur foam it offers on top. Another option would be The GrandBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm - Tempurpedic's ® latest top of the line mattress that offers more base foam along with some of its Tempur HD foam. If you are in the market for The GrandBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm, you might want to try out The CelebrityBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm at that same time. The GrandBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm is a real step up in price, so The CelebrityBed by Tempur-Pedic^tm is worth looking at to see if it does the job for you.
